“When it comes to making art, I’m not interested in the struggle. Not now at least. I’m searching for the magic. For that moment when everything makes sense and you can move forward”

About Gulps: When I finally got my kiln set up in Minnesota, I quickly found myself exploring forms that were filled with air and expressed the idea of expansion. For the first time in a long time, I had space and capacity to breathe deeply, to pause, to move freely. In some of the pieces, you can see the inclusion of fiber as a way to express new growth. My “Gulp” series is an expression of that and one that I look forward to continuing to explore.
